The Precolumbian Society (PCS) usually meets in room 345 at the Museum of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During the school year, they are held at 1:30 p. m. on the second Saturday of the month,  except for around the time of the Maya Weekend. There is always a featured speaker on some aspect of  the pre-Columbian Americas. Often it is about the Maya.   Ask at the Kress Entrance for directions to the room.

The Maya Glyph Group meets separately at 10 a.m. on the same Saturdays. The Pre-Columbian meetings are normally on the second Saturday of each month during the school year.

The Museum is at the corner of 33rd and Spruce Streets in West Philadelphia. Spruce Street becomes South Street just east of the Museum, and is conveniently accessed via the South Street exits from the Schuylkill expressway.

Enter the building through the Kress Gallery entrance, which is on the east end. The museum staff will not normally ask you for an entry fee at this entrance if you are not a member of the museum when  you are coming in for one of our meetings. However, if you haven't ever been to the museum or haven't been there for quite a while, you might want to come early enough to also see their exhibits before the meeting. For that you would need to pay admission if not a member of the museum.

A map of the University showing parking areas can be found at:
http://www.facilities.upenn.edu/.  However, I find the parking prices to be outrageous and I park across the bridge from the museum. To do this, after I get on the South Street exit going west, I turn east instead of west. Then I make sure I park somewhere visible with no broken glass. For a few  minutes' walk, I save $11.  Keep in mind that normal caution should be taken when walking anywhere in Philadelphia and this only works on weekends. For week days, I end up walking quite a bit more, but I won't tell you from where.
