15 Avenida 18-01, Zona 6
Interior Finca La Pedrera

(Guatemala City)

To get there, tell the taxi driver the Cemento Progreso Complex is located in Zona 6 on Avenida 15 and give him the above address. Have him drop you off at the entrance to the complex, where there is a large gate and guard station. You should tell the guard you are visiting the Museo Carlos F. Novella. You can also call ahead and have the friendly and beautiful museum director meet you at the gate when you arrive.

The grounds of the factory are huge, and the museum is located in a lovely and private section of the old finca where the owner used to live back in the early 20th century. It even has its own church. [It is] really a beautiful and tranquil location for a museum in an ugly and busy industrial part of town.

The phone of the museum: 2286-4100, ext. 6960." [Spanish spoken]

he web page indicates that the hours it is open are 8:00-17:00 Monday through Friday.  It also shows another extension for calling ahead, 6435.

When I went there in early April 2008, my companion and I had to leave our passports with the guard and take visitor's badges. We got them back on the return.

Visiting this museum from the Zona Viva should also include doing something downtown either to or fro.
