If you walk up to the actual village, you will go past the Biblioteca La Cruceñita on your right. which was started by volunteers, but which was recently seized by the municipality. Presumably this will allow municipality officials to petition the national government for funds for its use that could be misused by municipality honchos instead of benefitting the library.
I suggest that you stop in and ask about - los ladrones.
